Benefits of Membership

Representing the interests of our member societies and the fraternal benefit system.

The fraternal benefit system has seen dramatic change in the past few years, and the American Fraternal Alliance has responded by changing with the times. The American Fraternal Alliance has refocused and renewed its priorities. And we’re working to make them happen.

Our 71 member-societies look to the American Fraternal Alliance for resources in governance, education and leadership. In addition, the we work to ensure the continued viability of the entire fraternal benefit system by addressing the following challenges:

  • Defending the 501(c)(8) tax exemption.
  • Maintaining solvency.
  • Improving communications and public awareness.
  • Strengthening fraternals.

The American Fraternal Alliance also provides additional tools and services that further aid our member-societies. Among these are the many educational sessions and teleconferences, specifically designed for fraternals. Plus, the award-winning annual publication, Yearbook: Member Directory & Financial Reports, and a national errors-and-omissions and directors-and-officers insurance program, offered at member-only rates, are invaluable resources for the entire system.
