The American Fraternal Alliance offers its member societies several ways to acknowledge the contributions of its members through its awards programs. Societies are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for industry-wide recognition for their deserving volunteer. Winners are announced at the American Fraternal Alliance’s Annual Meeting each fall .
Fraternalist of the Year
This premier award of the fraternal benefit system honors an outstanding volunteer for service within the past year and is open to all societies. Past winners have come from all sizes of societies, many in the past years from smaller ones. Nominees can be any age; the independent panel of judges looks only at the service to the lodge and community. And the winner is rewarded with an all-expense trip for two to the 2013 Annual Meeting. This also presents a great public relations opportunity for the member’s lodge and his/her society.
The 2013 American Fraternal Alliance’s Fraternalist of the Year is Lisa Mick, Catholic Financial Life.
Fraternal FIC of the Year Award
Also recognized at the Annual Meeting is the Fraternal FIC of the Year, an award jointly sponsored by the Fraternal Field Managers Association (FFMA), the National Association of Insurance Counselors (NAIC) and the Alliance. This individual is an agent who, besides offering excellent financial products, presents himself or herself as the “face of fraternalism” to the community, volunteering above and beyond normal expectations. Nomination forms are sent to Field Managers in January.
