Thoughts on the Las Vegas massacre…

When will we as a people – and the individuals we elect to represent us – say enough is enough?  The answer can be found in the book that so many in this nation and around the world use as a spiritual guidepost:

“They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.”

Isaiah 2:4

We need to read this partial verse of the Bible in its entire context. This passage of scripture Isaiah 2:1-4 describes a future event in Jerusalem. It will be a time after Christ has returned to earth at Jerusalem and, is “established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow to it” (verse 2). In those days, Many people shall say lets go to the house of God and He will teach us His ways and we shall walk in his paths. I don’t see this happening now, do you? It isn’t until God judges between nations and rebukes many people (Isaiah 4a) that we shall beat swords into plowshares, spears into pruning hooks, (Isaiah 4b)and finally nation shall not lift up sword against nation and learn war anymore. (Isaiah 4c)I suggest also reading Isaiah 1:21-31. This describes our world today and what God will soon do just prior to being exalted as King in chapter 2.
