Alliance Executive Summit a hit with members and Members of Congress…
More than 60 Alliance member CEOs, senior executives, and board chairs came to Washington, DC, last week to learn from public policy experts, opinion leaders, and each other at the Executive Summit.
Members appreciated the diversity of the topics covered and the quality of the speakers who addressed them. They gave particularly high marks to the fraternal executives who led the “CEO-to-CEO Learning Sessions” (Cynthia Tidwell of Royal Neighbors; Harald Borrmann of Catholic United Financial; and Ken Hochstetler and Jim Alvarez of Everence) and the congressional visits component of the program.
Eleven delegations of Alliance executives met with more than 40 Members of Congress and/or their staff to make sure federal legislators know who we are and what we do, and to recruit additional co-sponsors for our House and Senate Fraternal Resolutions. Given the number of new co-sponsors that we’ve added just in the past few days, that effort was a resounding success.
More than a dozen Alliance member CEOs also participated in a special breakfast meeting honoring Rep. Erik Paulsen (R-Minn.), the lead GOP sponsor of the House version of the Fraternal Resolution for the past three sessions of Congress.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then these photos tell the story of a truly outstanding event. Thanks to all those who made the effort to attend. Mark your calendars for the 2019 Executive Summit – September 23-25 in Washington, DC. (Note that we are moving the Executive Summit to the fall, and it will also serve as the Alliance’s annual business meeting.)
