I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I was able to spend some time with our grandchildren which reminded me of what’s really important in our short time on this planet.
This week, I’m in Texas meeting with a member society board of directors about governance, strategic planning, and the outlook and options for small society sustainability. I’ll also be meeting with our Texas local counsel to map out a plan to work with member societies to successfully introduce and enact our fraternal solvency legislation here in 2019.
The Alliance Board of Directors meets on Tuesday, December 4, to consider a number of key issues that will have a major impact on the future of the organization, including the review and approval of the 2019 Strategic Plan and Budget, the timeline for kicking off fundraising for the Alliance PAC, and the plan to transition to the new association management company operating model.
We will provide a full report on the Board’s actions on these issues in a series of Bulletins published between December 11-18. Look for only one more blog post before the Christmas holiday. But, of course, you can always call or email me with your questions, comments, and concerns about any aspect of the Alliance.
