Five Must-Reads of the Week

May 22, 2012
Here's a smattering of items and articles I've come across during the last week or so that I thought you'd find interesting. Feel free to add your own comments or post an article you think people just have to read... Quote of the week– "If you don't like change, you're going to like irrelevance even less." What have you done for me lately?  Businesses (especially publicly-traded companies) seem to focus exclusively on quarterly results. But a paper from a new group of "supporters of capitalism" says that may not be the best idea. Haven't fraternals known that all along? Creative Destruction  Every living thing (including an organization) has a life cycle. Check out this article on changes in the financial services industry written by Bill Handel of the Raddon Group. Economic issues, social issues, and the 2012 elections  It's going to get nasty out there in the coming months, but I thought this blog by Doug Pinkham of the Public Affairs Council contained some interesting insights as to the connections between issues, organizations, and consumers. The Death of Facts  I got a kick out of this tongue-in-cheek piece (especially since I swear I saw Jerry Garcia in a Mexican restaurant in San Antonio last week)... Read any great articles you'd like to share?
