Meet me (a week earlier) in The Big Easy

December 12, 2011
[caption id="attachment_918" align="aligncenter" width="468" caption="Mercier Courtyard at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans"][/caption] By now you’ve probably heard that due to the pending renovation of the Sheraton New Orleans, the Alliance is moving its 2012 Annual Meeting up one week (to our traditional Labor Day week schedule) and relocating the event to the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. The new dates for the 2012 meeting are September 6-8. Please mark your calendar today and look for online registration to be available in the first quarter of 2012. Hopefully, the rescheduling does not create any conflicts for you – and may even create an opportunity for you to bring an additional executive or Board member from your society to the meeting. The change in venue actually reduces the incredibly low room rate of $155 per night we had negotiated with the Sheraton. Rooms at the Ritz-Carlton will be available to Alliance Annual Meeting registrants for only $149 per night. Where else are you going to find a deal like that? [caption id="attachment_920" align="aligncenter" width="468" caption="Ritz-Carlton New Orleans - Third Floor Lobby"][/caption] And the same great keynoters – James Carville and Mary Matalin – will be there, too. Plus the usual array of outstanding workshops on every aspect of your society’s operations. And plenty of time to enjoy the one-of-a-kind ambiance of New Orleans, one of the world’s most unique cities. We’re also tweaking the schedule to make a great meeting even better by providing you more educational programming and networking opportunities. Our thanks to the Sheraton New Orleans for their willingness to understand our concerns about conducting a meeting while the hotel was being remodeled. The executive team there was very gracious in helping us secure an alternative location, and we look forward to conducting a future Alliance Annual Meeting – perhaps as early as 2016 – at the Sheraton. But for now, we’ve got our sights set on September of 2012. See you in New Orleans. Laissez les bon temps roulez!
