What’s Happening!!

While I am out participating in state fraternal alliance meetings and member events, the Alliance staff is in the midst of transitioning to our new Advocacy Plus model and budgeting for next year’s activities. While this encompasses the work of several departments, I’d like to call out a few exciting developments that Alliance members can look forward to in 2019.

Life Insurers Council (LIC) Partnership

We are officially partnering with the Life Insurers Council (LIC) to offer their unique brand of operations-focused learning opportunities to Alliance members at amazingly reasonable rates. LIC meetings happen all over the US and are designed for a variety of executives from smaller insurers. I spoke to LIC Executive Director Jeff Shaw to get his take on why this is such a good match.  Click here to read our Q & A conversation – you will come away determined to take advantage of these opportunities.

Staying Connected

Through member visits and recent conversations, we heard loud and clear how critical it is for fraternal leaders to come together. Half-day regional Meet & Eats are being planned for every season next year and will give Alliance members the chance to break bread, network and address challenges together through informal roundtable programming – all at a nominal registration fee. Alliance staff will survey attendees in advance on what topics are most pressing and fraternal leaders and associate members will come prepared to share, learn and stay connected between the Alliance’s two primary meetings (Spring Symposium and the Executive Summit).

Winter – San Antonio, TX
Spring – Cleveland, OH
Summer – Pittsburgh, PA
Fall – Chicago, IL

For now, please mark your calendars for the Spring Symposium (May 28-30 and the Executive Summit September 23-25 [invite only]). We will give you additional details as they emerge on the other Alliance events – and you can always check the website for updates.
